Diversity & Inclusion

My teammate and I set out on a mission to create a better company environment based on issues we were seeing nationwide. It was time to discuss the topic of diversity and inclusion within our own organization. We identified a need and want for reform within our company.

The process.

We decided to design and run a How Might We ideation session. This created an open forum for our colleagues to provide direct feedback and recommendations. We ran the session with 11 members from various teams across the organization and allowed them to join anonymously to ensure they felt comfortable providing this type of feedback.

Problem Statement.

GDM Colleagues want to create organizational change within GDM to ensure a community that encourages open discussion, embraces diversity, and actively removes barriers to support a culture of inclusion and belonging.

Output.

After we ran the How Might We session with questions based on the problem statement, my teammate and I completed an affinity mapping session. From that session, we came up with high-level themes and improvements to recommend to our company’s leadership team. We presented our process and findings to one of our General Managers. Since the time of pass off, she has moved some of these items forward on the leadership level.
